The books "Health of the child and the common sense of his relatives" and "ORZ: a guide for sensible parents" have been translated into Ukrainian and Chinese.

Today, Dr. Komarovsky is the head of his own school, TV presenter, author of programs, writer and creator of video messages to the parents of Russia.

Candidate of Medical Sciences Evgeny Olegovich Komarovsky lives in Kharkov.

Komarovsky not only writes a guide for sane parents and calls to protect children from the very first days of life, he also educates his children himself according to his own simple method, which allows kids to adapt to modern living conditions.

It is also interesting that Komarovsky in 2010 was recognized as the most handsome man in Ukraine.

"Without a wife - nowhere"

Evgeny Olegovich is very attached to his family - especially to his mother and sister, who is 10 years younger than him.

In his article, he wrote that it was fear for his sister that spurred him to become a pediatrician.

Thanks to his sister, he understood exactly what he wants to become, what he wants to do in the future.

Thanks to his sister, he will enter the Kharkov Medical Institute at the Faculty of Pediatrics.

Komarovsky also created his most popular books, The Beginning of Your Child's Life and The Health of the Child and the Common Sense of His Relatives, thanks to observations of his family.

The doctor's wife, Ekaterina, is also a pediatrician, a professional ophthalmologist with extensive experience. The young people got married very early, after the fourth year.

And they weren't wrong about each other. Both know how important the family is, what kind of support it gives, what physical and mental strength it mobilizes, and finally, morally cleanses.

Perhaps Komarovsky and his wife - a prime example of what a real family and family hearth should be. Not devastating, but, on the contrary, giving energy to live, curing all diseases. This is what gave the doctor the ground to bring knowledge to other people.

“We love traditions,” says the doctor. Traditions are good psychological protection.

Without them, we are lost in this world, we lose our foothold. Indeed, according to the teachings of catatim-imaginative psychotherapy, it is traditions that form the basis of experiences hidden from consciousness. Komarovsky takes care of the health of his grandchildren, not only in terms of spiritual growth, but also in all respects. medical regulations.

Being one of the best pediatricians, he even in life uses the concept of the doctrine of "contagion", an infectious substance that affects the health of the human body.

"Patients are my family"

Komarovsky spends a lot of time on an individual approach to patients.

He examines each case, as if under a microscope, and does not get tired of repeating "inclinations and predispositions are not cured!".

The doctor believes that children are born healthy, but the inability to handle them makes them vulnerable to diseases, so he tries to give as much information as possible, which will help in the most elementary care of babies.

The family is the shield of children's health. While the baby lives in the family, he matures, is created brick by brick, layer by layer. And the logical consequence of the influence of the family is what a person grows up to be.

“My job is not only to heal, but also to educate parents.” Dr. Komarovsky is convinced that every parent should learn a simple and effective algorithm of actions that will help raise a healthy baby.

The doctor has two sons - Dmitry and Andrey, both fathers who gave Komarovsky grandchildren.

The doctor's family lives in a private house, and the noise and children's laughter never stop here - friends, patients and children with grandchildren come. Sometimes the doctor, along with his family and friends, goes fishing, where he rests alone with nature.

As a conclusion

Today Komarovsky is 54 years old. He is one of the best specialists in the field of pediatrics and neonatology, healthcare and pharmaceuticals; independently studies children's play psychotherapy, gestalt therapy, predispositions, diagnosis of conjunctivitis and giardia, bacterial infections.

He has thousands of grateful patients on his account, who deservedly consider Komarovsky the best teacher in teaching the discipline “how to be healthy”. Evgeny Olegovich himself has no doubt that he chose the right path in life, because there is nothing more valuable than the smiles of healthy children.

Being a mom and dad is not hard work, but a pleasure, says a famous pediatrician. Provided that parents have the necessary knowledge.

Most Ukrainians first heard about Dr. Komarovsky during last year's swine flu epidemic, when he criticized the country's leadership, and society as a whole, for the panic around this problem. Meanwhile, the numerous "mother's party" has long called Evgeny Olegovich "the guru of child studies."
Today, the honored pediatrician hosts his program “The School of Dr. Komarovsky” on the Inter TV channel, where he teaches everything that parents need to know to raise a healthy child. Now my main task he sees not so much in the treatment of children as in the education of adults.

Evgeny Olegovich, are your parents also doctors by profession?
My parents are engineers and worked most of their lives at a turbine plant. None of my ancestors had anything to do with medicine. And I never cease to be surprised by this, because it often seems to me that the desire to heal is genetically inherent in me.

My mother, before becoming an engineer, graduated from the Institute of Culture
and worked as a librarian for several years. The consequences of my mother's library education are a huge home library, a cult of books and my passion for reading. For my choice future profession primarily influenced by my younger sister. She was born when I was 10 years old, and the feeling of immense love for her, fear for her is still perceived by me as the strongest emotional shock of childhood. By the time I graduated from school, the question of choosing a university was no longer there: Kharkov Medical Institute, Faculty of Pediatrics.

That's where you met your future wife...
We studied on the same stream, got married after the fourth year. I'm still amazed at how lucky I was the first time around! My wife is also a pediatrician (oculist). Ekaterina Aleksandrovna worked for many years in a state polyclinic. A year ago, this situation began to get on the nerves of both her and me. The work did not bring any income. We somehow calculated that she received about 20 kopecks from the state for seeing one patient. At the same time, the repair of the office had to be done at his own expense. In my opinion, a salary of 120 dollars a month humiliates human dignity. And since the wife has sufficient experience, we decided on the need for retirement. It is a pity that the state cannot create decent working conditions for a highly qualified specialist.

What are your children doing?
I have two adult sons. The eldest is 28, he is married and works in the IT field, the youngest is 22, he is still studying. We often gather in the family circle: the elder comes with his daughter-in-law, the younger brings a girlfriend. There are no grandchildren yet and we are not forcing this issue. I would like to have heirs, on the other hand, there is a certain fear. I married young and became a father at 21. After that, I had the opportunity to communicate with at least 150-200 thousand children. But frankly, I cannot predict what feelings I will have when I take my own grandson or granddaughter in my arms.

I wonder where Dr. Komarovsky lives and how he spends free time?
I live in own house in Kharkov. There is no vegetable garden in the yard, but there is a large garden, fir-trees, birches, two huge century-old oaks. Our yard - favorite place meeting with friends. In addition, I have a passion for fishing since childhood. This is more than just a hobby - it's some kind of pathology! Both in winter and in summer at dawn on Sunday, together with friends and children, I go fishing for the whole day. For me this is the easiest and effective method put in order thoughts, distract from the "passions" of the sad domestic pediatrics. I also love to travel. True, trips around Ukraine in recent times have become somewhat problematic. If in Kyiv I am going to have a bite to eat in a restaurant, then until I take a picture with all the waitresses, they will not give me food.

But still, 99% of my life is busy with work. Previously, most of the time was taken by the reception of small patients. Now the situation has changed, because I have focused my efforts not so much on the treatment of children, but on teaching parents the art of proper parenting. In fact, we are a training and consultation center for moms and dads. In addition, I take care of my website, writing books and translating them into different languages. We (the whole team helps me) conduct a huge correspondence, answer questions. TV programs take up a lot of time.

This year you supported the Anti-Smoking Manifesto. How acute is this problem in Ukraine?
According to statistics, 25 million Ukrainians suffer from cardiovascular diseases. All early heart attacks, strokes, vascular pathology, oncology are unambiguously associated with smoking. In order for the heart to work well, adequate physical activity. A smoker is not able to exercise exercise: at the slightest exertion, he starts short of breath. Smoking people aged 50-60 have a real chance to “earn” a stroke, lie down for 15 years and become a burden for their loved ones. And all this just because they smoke! Unfortunately, in our country there are no conditions either for the treatment of bedridden patients, or even for leaving without pain.

Some parents smoke even in front of their children...
In my practice, there were cases when I had to treat a child with asthma. With the naked eye, as they say, it was noticeable that the parents were smoking. In this case, there are two treatment options: take very strong hormonal preparations or try to avoid exposure to tobacco smoke. Therefore, in such situations, I always tell parents: "Either you quit smoking, at least in front of the child, or you go to another doctor." If you do not have enough willpower to "tie up", then you need to at least minimize the harm from your smoking for children.

Admit you too long time smoked...
I started smoking at the age of 19, when I went to work in the intensive care unit of the Kharkov Institute of Emergency Surgery. The work seemed like a real hell: moans, screams, every day someone died. I needed to find an excuse to get out of it all, if only for a few minutes. At first, everyone told me: “Zhenya, you don’t smoke, wait, look!” And all the nurses ran away for a ten-minute smoke break. I looked at them and lit a cigarette too. Thanks to this, I had the opportunity to take a break ten times during my shift.
I smoked for twenty years, two packs a day. And five years ago I finally said goodbye to this addiction.

What made you quit?
First of all, the state of health. I felt ischemic pain. They occur when blood flow to the heart muscle is interrupted. This is a characteristic pain in the region of the heart, which gives under the scapula or in left hand. I have repeatedly said on television: “If you smoke and feel the above symptoms, then this is a bell that can turn into a bell at your funeral. It's either you or you. It is worth thinking about what will happen to your loved ones when you are gone. If you love them, you must stop smoking.” By the way, two months after I quit smoking, the pain in my heart disappeared.

Although I am not an easily suggestible person, Alan Carr's famous book "The Easy Way to Quit Smoking" helped me. At first I chuckled at the delusional and naivety of this book, but then I changed my mind. In fact, its genius lies in the main message: when you quit smoking, you do not become unhappy - on the contrary, you become happier.

Example: I'm fishing, I can't pull a pike out of the water for a long time, I fight with it and finally win. What did I do before? Celebrated victory with a cigarette! This is how a chain of actions appears that you get used to. Then you quit smoking, tell yourself "period", the next day you see a man with a cigarette and envy him. But in fact, you should not envy him, but pity him. You no longer have this addiction, but he still has it.

In autumn, the cold season traditionally begins. What would you advise parents?
I would say that the health of your child primarily depends on you. Do not rely on your grandmother, or on teachers, or on pediatricians - rely only on your own strength. Read, think, analyze. If trouble nevertheless occurred, the room with the sick child should be ventilated, and the air temperature should be low ... For some reason, in our country, a temperature of 19 degrees is considered low, and if I say the numbers "16-17 degrees", then they will generally consider me extremist. But, say, in Germany, this is considered normal air temperature in the bedroom. We have everything upside down, so the main problems are connected
with overheating of children in everyday life. For example, a child has a runny nose.

At night he slept in a warm, dry room and breathed through his mouth. In the morning his lungs dry up. In such cases, parents often complain that the virus has gone down. This is absolutely the wrong approach. When a child has snot, he needs to be warmly dressed, but he must breathe cool moist air. Here is another important "educational" moment: 80% viral diseases in our country, they “treat” with antibiotics, while no antibiotics work on viruses. For any viral infection produced in the lungs a large number of mucus to be coughed up. If you do not cough up the mucus, then, having accumulated in the body, it can subsequently cause complications.

You are engaged in educating people: publishing books, hosting a program on television. Do you see the results of your work?
I see that mothers cease to perceive grandmothers as carriers of the only true information. It is becoming more and more difficult for local pediatricians to "fool the head" of people. More and more parents analyze the actions of doctors: why this or that is being done, how to do the right thing and what not. People are starting to think about the fact that a highly qualified specialist aged 30-40, who is responsible for the life and health of the younger generation, should not receive a salary of 1200 hryvnia.

And what do you see as a way out?
A big reform program in this industry is maturing in my head. But it is practically unrealizable in this country. I will voice this program when I have an institution of bodyguards, because for its implementation it is necessary to disperse half of the nomenklatura workers. Even within the framework of the money that is allocated for medicine, it is possible to fundamentally change the quality of medical care. It is necessary to stop feeding the selfish interests of a huge number of structures that make money on the health care system.

It would be nice if a law were introduced in Ukraine that would oblige all state officials to treat their children and be treated themselves in Ukraine, and not abroad, and only in ordinary clinics at the place of registration. Maybe then the situation would change radically.
